How we verify the data

A wrong carrier size or fee can mean a pet turned away at the gate. So every rule on PetFlightCheck goes through the same process before it's published.

1. Official sources only

We only use the airline's own website and official government sources, such as agriculture and health authorities. We don't use blogs, forums or other pet travel sites as sources, even when they rank well.

2. We keep the exact wording

For every rule we save a copy of the official page's text, and we store the exact sentence that backs each value: a fee, a carrier size, a banned route. A script checks that each of those sentences really appears in the saved page.

3. A person confirms it

Before a page is published, a person reviews every value against its source sentence. Anything unclear is sent back, not guessed.

4. Unknown means unknown

If an airline doesn't publish something, like a weight limit or how many pets fit on a flight, we say so. You'll see "None published" or "Not verified yet" instead of a number that looks right but isn't.

5. Every page is dated

Each airline page shows the date we last verified it against the official pages, and links to each of those pages next to the facts they support. We re-check airline pages at least every 60 days, and sooner when we learn of a change.

6. When airlines disagree with themselves

Sometimes two pages from the same airline say different things. We don't pick one quietly. The page shows both and tells you to confirm with the airline.

Email contact@petflightcheck.com with the page and what changed. If an official source confirms it, we'll fix it and update the date.
