Yes. Porter allows dogs and cats in the cabin on domestic and international flights for $50 each way, per pet. The carrier must fit under the seat in front of you, up to 55 × 40 × 27 cm (soft-sided). Pets can't fly in cargo or as checked baggage.

How to add your dog to a booking
- Reserve space for your pet when you book, or call the Porter Call Centre at 1-888-619-8622 as early as possible. Pets travel on a space-available basis, and at least 24 hours' notice is required.
- Check in online if you like, but pick up your boarding pass at the airport check-in counter.
- Your pet stays in its carrier, closed under the seat, from security screening until you arrive.
Pet fee
$50
Any Porter flight
each way, per pet
- Porter gives the fee as $50 plus applicable taxes ($50 to $57.50), per pet, per direction. The page says CAD/USD without saying which applies when, so USD is recorded here as the amount's currency. The same fee is listed on all four fares (Basic, Standard, Flexible, Freedom).
- Pet in cabin fees are non-refundable.

Carrier size and weight
Porter doesn't publish a weight limit for pets in the cabin. What matters is the carrier: your pet has to fit inside it, and it has to fit under the seat in front of you.
Soft-sided carrier (maximum)
55 × 40 × 27 cm
≈ 21.7 × 15.7 × 10.6 in (L × W × H)
- Porter accepts soft-sided carriers only. The carrier must fit under the seat in front of you, be leak proof and well ventilated, and stay closed under the seat. Your pet must be able to stand up, turn around and lie down comfortably, with no part of it outside the carrier.
- Your pet in its carrier counts as your one standard article of carry-on baggage. You can bring one additional personal item of up to 33 x 43 x 16 cm (13 x 17 x 6 in); all other baggage must be checked.
- Up to 2 pets are allowed per flight.
- 1 carrier per passenger, with one pet inside.
Where you can sit
- Not in an emergency exit row
- Not with unaccompanied minors, passengers travelling with infants, or a registered travel attendant
- Not if you need a medical device stowed under the seat
Routes, breeds and other restrictions
Where pets can't fly
We haven't verified which routes, if any, don't accept pets on Porter. Check the official page before you book.
Breeds
Porter doesn't mention short-nosed breeds.
Also good to know
- Aggressive or distressed pets may be denied transport at Porter's discretion.
- Porter's in-cabin pet policy applies to flights operated by Porter Airlines only. On connections to or from another airline, contact that airline for its pet rules.
- Passengers with pets can check in online but must pick up their boarding passes at the airport check-in counter.
- Your pet must stay in its carrier from the point of security screening until you reach your final destination.
- Porter doesn't take responsibility for loss, delay, injury, sickness or death of a pet it accepts.
- Arrive at least 90 minutes before your flight with a pet.
- Pets travelling to the United States require a health certificate from their veterinarian as well as proof of a rabies vaccination in the past 12 months.
Cargo and checked pets
Porter doesn't carry pets in the cargo hold, so a dog that doesn't fit in an under-seat carrier can't fly with Porter.

Other details
- Service dogs fly in the cabin without charge: tell Porter at least 48 hours ahead and provide the service dog certificate from the training institution. Porter accepts dogs certified by an Assistance Dogs International (ADI)-accredited institution; dogs not trained by an ADI or International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF) program, or trained online, are generally not accepted and are assessed case by case. Service dogs in training, rescue dogs and therapy dogs are not accepted.
- To or from the United States, a signed and dated U.S. DOT Service Animal Air Transportation Form is required at least 48 hours before departure.
- Emotional support dogs: Porter accepts only dogs. Within Canada the dog must stay in an approved carrier. On flights to the U.S., where emotional support dogs are no longer considered service animals, the dog travels as a pet (space permitting, with the pet in cabin fee). Documentation from a licensed medical or mental health professional, dated within 1 year of the flight, is required.
- Porter's pet page doesn't state a minimum age, a weight limit for the pet, breed or temperature restrictions, or a list of flights where pets aren't accepted. Confirm with Porter before you book.
- Dogs coming into the U.S. need the CDC Dog Import Form.
Before you fly
Porter can change its pet policy at any time. We last checked these official pages on October 2, 2026. Confirm the rules with Porter before you book and again before you travel.
