    Service dogs and emotional support animals

    • Only trained service dogs are accepted as service animals.
    • Required paperwork: For flights to/from the USA: the U.S. DOT Service Animal Air Transportation Form, plus the DOT Relief Attestation Form on flights scheduled over eight hours.

    Other details

    • Assistance dogs fly in the cabin on all Virgin Atlantic routes. Flying into London Heathrow, the Animal Reception Centre needs at least 72 hours' notice before your departure to issue the pre-approval letter.
    • If part of your trip is on a partner airline such as Delta or KLM, check that airline's rules too.
